An Introduction
Hello!
If you've come across from the Flickr album, or been similarly redirected, thanks for making the trip. Hopefully this will be a slightly more accessible way both to display my customs and respond properly to any further interest in them. This is only very new, so I'll be tidying it up in weeks to come as I add more content.
(Stick with this...)
This was never the plan, to be quite honest. I've been quite happily pottering away at home creating custom figures for about 15 years now, initially to supplement my Marvel collection, but latterly to fill the gaps in Character Options' seriously addictive Doctor Who line. I posted the images on a few forums, to polite interest, and occasionally posted one on Ebay to boost my funds. As such, all I needed was an image hosting site - formerly Photobucket, and once they had introduced prices, Flickr.
But once I started taking commissions, and the recipients started showing them off to a wider audience, the limitations of this presence became clear. People were left scratching their heads as to how to contact me - having to create their own Flickr accounts and leave comments, or private message me through the site (which was fairly ineffective, as the site didn't use my primary email address). All of which meant I was taking ages to reply to people's messages, which is terribly rude, and which I wasn't very happy about.
I've been meaning to sort out my social media game for an age, and this is the first (and possibly last) step in that direction. Hopefully, once I've uploaded all the relevant images, this can serve as a repository of all the various Who monster customs I've bashed together over the years, and a guide to any I have upcoming. Furthermore, I can use it to go into more depth on things like custom techniques, for anyone who might be interested. And lastly, it'll be a means to discuss commissioning for customs, and outline my normal terms for such things, without having to email everything to any interested party. And people can hopefully react a bit more easily to this than to my Flickr gallery.
Bear with me - there's a lot of content to upload before everything is across, but I'll try to seed some new stuff in to make it a bit more interesting.
For instance...
Here's a WIP (work in progress) image of my mostly-sculpted Thijarian figure. More on this in due course.
If you have made the jump across, let me know in the comments so I know I'm not wasting my time completely!
